New Years with Mark

Some of my best New Years Eves have been spent with Mark. They started, for me, with the parties at his parents house. And then there was a chilled but brilliant one in London at the house in Ashmead Rd, and various other stops. I'll always be glad that I ignored his protests last year and spent new year with Himself, Manu & Sophie. (Even if the Chinese picked up had coleslaw in it?!?) He was sure that i'd rather be somewhere more exciting. He can't have known how much I and everyone wanted to be around him, if he did he might have got in the room a bit faster! Anyway, even though it was just the three of us (after Sophie finally surrendered and went to bed) he insisted that we sing Auld Lang Syne as the clock struck 12. Nice traditional idea but none of us really knew the words, and he didn't reveal this plan till the last minute, and the clock did not wait. Youtube came to the rescue and after loading several versions that were too slow, just the instrumentals & just plain weird, craning our necks behind us to see the words, arms linked we sang the new year in. Late. Banners style. That song is Mark's now.
